You’re invited to join Heritage Community Initiatives in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community. Stretch your legs with either a 5K walk or a one-mile fun walk.
It all happens Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Flagstaff Hill in Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park, presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Registration starts at 7:45 am; the 5K walk begins at 9:00 and the one-mile fun walk starts at 9:15.
The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is a fundraiser that benefits 59 local nonprofit health and human service agencies in Western Pennsylvania, including Heritage.
A limited supply of commemorative tee-shirts is available for walkers who register early and raise at least $25 for Heritage.
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk—so 100 percent of the money raised by walkers goes directly to support Heritage programs like the 4 Kids Early Learning Center, WorkLink Community Van Service, and MOVE-IT environmental job training.
Register early at www.WalkForAHealthyCommunity.org for either the 5K or One-Mile Fun Walk, and then join other generous people in raising funds to support Heritage. (Registration forms are also available at Heritage headquarters, 820 Braddock Avenue in Braddock.)
For more information, call 412-351-0535, ext. 111, or 866-620-WALK.
